Southern California girl, raised in Long Beach--attended Newcomb Academy, Millikan High
School, and Long Beach City College! I graduated from Whittier College and then was hired at
my first “real” job at The Ohio State University as one of the first full time female collegiate
swim coach’s in the nation. I earned the opportunity as a two-time Olympian, double
medalist –and former world record holder in swimming. I qualified for my first Games before I
started high school and my second Olympic experience after I graduated from high school—so I was right
out of college when I was hired as the Buckeye coach. After a successful 3 year coaching stint
in Ohio, I really missed my Long Beach roots and the warmer weather. I accepted a job doing
promotional work for a swim wear company with “minimal travel’---which kept me on the
road over 300 days a year. I enjoyed traveling the world for a while but eventually it took a toll
on me. A close girlfriend of mine persuaded me to interview with State Farm Insurance as her
husband was a State Farm agent. I was feeling entrepreneurial at the time, so I decided to
embark on the journey. Being a State Farm agent would allow me to put roots down once
again. Now, 30 years later, I still have my agency in Naples in Long Beach. I still find joy
meeting and talking with customers and neighbors and being a part of the community. In my free
time I enjoy walking the canals in Naples, traveling and working out. My disciplined training
from swimming continues but my exercise consists of anything but swimming. I still am
unable to sleep in from all the early morning swim practices that I was accustomed to. I take
pleasure in social events and hosting friends in my home. Alas, cooking is not one of my better
known skills --I have a beautiful new gas range which gets very little use. One of the beauties
of being in the Long Beach, Naples, Belmont Shore area are the many locally owned
restaurants that I love to take advantage of supporting when I have gatherings. As a small
business owner, I know the importance of shopping local. My team and I also support the
community by participating in in the Joy of Giving/Spark of Love toy drive. I am also a member
of the Long Beach Century Club, a non-profit dedicated to amateur athletics in the city of
Long Beach. Over the years in this industry I have learned how important it is to be someone
people can count on—to be trustworthy and dependable. My State Farm team, Recki, Michele
and Dina, two of whom are bilingual , all deeply value the relationships we have built with
customers over the decades. I know that our clientele can always rely on my experienced team
and me. If you live in Long Beach, Lakewood, Signal Hill Seal Beach or Orange County area, we
